What are the most dangerous traps a trader can fall into?
my take, one word : Hubris.
The trap has nothing to do with the markets. Traders get cocky and arrogant and
soon they are slaughtered. Bragging about a trade. Making fun of someone's loss.
Etc. Deadly.
Not getting out, taking the loss and moving on when your thesis breaks down.
holding on to a stock that is falling and thinking it will g back up. No sell
discipline, cast me 10 of thousands of $$$$$$. paid for that lesson over and
over. No More! Be very nibble.
get one of those dogs the cops use to sniff high school lockers, too

trading on emotions. there should be an automatic emothin check like a spell
checker for Pickr's - before you hit the 'buy' button... and a breathalyzer.
-make either, sp frustrate/frustrute...
Well said...the market will always strive the frustrute as much as possible.
Lately that's been bears with these great facts and figures yet losing money
everyday.
You make either make money when the stock goes in the direction you bet on.
Everything else is meaningless.
The day you let go of opinions is the day you start making money.
Peter, totally agree...Pride goes before a fall.
Maybe you should start a thread in the forum where people can post their trades
before they make them if they want to. Enter trade. And exit when they exit.
That would be interesting, I think.
Actually, the people here who garner the most respect are those who state their
position near-realtime. Who dare to say "I just went long [or short] Teldar
Paper". I dont care if they're wrong or right, and I might challenge them but I
tell you, I respect that. They had the nerve to tell us where they stand. None
of this "I bought Albatross Airlines two days ago I'm rich everyone else is
stupid" HORSESHIT that you see all the time. Useless bullshit to tell me you
made money, you didnt make me any so shutup

that's on the list, being complacent, fat dumb and happy, before the blade
strikes your neck. It's all about not letting emotions drive your trading
decisions. Pat's right, too - nobody shows their hand at poker, do they?
