Some Europeans in the G20 may not like our monetary and fiscal policy
prescriptions, but tomorrow, Mar. 26, in Taiwan economists are talking about the
Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan) potentially cutting the discount
rate on its 10-day loans to a record low 1% from 1.25%. President Ma
Ying-jeou’s plans to stimulate Taiwan’s lagging economy with another $25
billion, 6% of GDP, in infrastructure, consumer grants, and tax cuts over a four
year period. In other tomorrow news, Honda Motor reported initial order of
21,000 Insight hybrid cars in the one month since its Japanese unveiling.
