Commodities are unbelievably toxic to my portfolio. FCX, down 37%. FWLT, down
32%. NOV, down 24%. And that's AFTER I bought more earlier when they hit my buy
price. At some point I'll have to stop averaging them down because I'll run out
of money!! /rant

This is over done on the downside. I stepped in & picked up some FCX, this is
stupid silly selling, like they're going out of business like a WM. Get
real!!!!
things r not that bad in commodites ,wallstreet is over selling these way too
much, also the shorts r pressing the hell out of these because they have been
banned from financilas even though they use other tools on banning down
financials
for now fcx looks like its found a bottom. if s and p holds 1120 you could buy
some depending on how much your current exposure is. mike
Cramer buys on the way down. I prefer to buy on the way up when I can. The best
strategy is stop losses, then try to pick the bottom again. It takes a lot of
guts to buy 100 shares, then 200 at a lower price without selling the first 100,
the 300 at an even lower price without ever selling the first 300. But you can
get your money back eventually as long as it comes back up. It takes real faith
in the company, and is dead money in the meal time. GOOG is a good example.
Cramer was buying it when it was much higher. I'll buy more eventually, but not
anytime soon in this economy. This business about buying companies with lots of
cash is not preferable to not buying them at all when they are headed down.
You and me brother. I am in the house of pain. Jeez I dont even bother looking
at my portfolio anymore.
Averaging down is a sure way to ruin.
Nothing worse than the damage the financials took at the begining of the year.
Or did you believe the garbage that commodities would be immune?
