Open Question

Are we putting in a bottom here? Or is this just another leg down in a Bear
market?

I think I own stock in quality companies. But I'm not sure if I should buy
down, or if I should sell everything and wait for the smoke to clear. So far it
feels like I'm getting crushed buying down.

I'm also wondering if it is best to collect dividends in this market or reinvest
them as we go down.

Any thoughts?

Now that I've been slaughtered...
Should I reinvest the dividends, hold, and start buying on the way up?

My timeframe is 3-5 years on half my portfolio, 4-12 months on the rest. Though
for my shorter term stocks, I only buy things I would be willing to hold longer
- was just expecting shorter term moves. Of course I was expecting those moves
to the upside, not straight down :(

thnx everyone for your ideas and advice!

buying the dips in a bear market is just something you dont need to do. risk
management, wait for an upturn, a real one lasts for usually years, no need to
catch the bottom 10% when you dont have deep pockets

always re-invest divy if your time frame is 2yr+

I usually like to cost down @ roughly 3-5% but I always watch my level II and if
the shorts or sellers are lining up I'll go 5-7% 1/4 position at a time.

Lately I've been buying 1.5 x the first/highest purchase.

I've been waiting for a 10% drop.

thnx!

how do you buy dips? same amount of shares. less, more.....how often do you buy
dips? percentage down, specific dollar amount down, only on bad news/good
news/random
