Open Question

Stockpickrs,
I have a wash sale question. How similar does the company have to be to count?
For example, if you sold POT for a loss and bought MOS a week or so later I'm
guessing that you can't write off the loss. But what if you bought MON? In
other words, how similar do the companies have to be?

Wash sale rule would apply strictly to stock of same company. Like kind or
similar
'anything' would not apply nor be considered.

Agree if you sell POT, you can buy MOS or MON a week later. I am waiting to buy
MOS and POT on a dip.

Same stock, not sector.

I believe it has to be the same company.
