Open Question

I've heard people talk about the historical avg PE of a stock. Does anybody know
where I find that info?

Go to morningstar.com . Pull up a quote on your ticker symbol and then click the
link for "Valuation Ratios" on the left side. There will be a tab for
10 years of historical ratios.

no but in the last 18 months you would get a good feeling for the company in a
bull market p/e, bear market p/e, and transitions in between

you can often find it in research papers from analysts. most brokerages will
offer some "independent" research.

i have to add i hate using a 10 year historical average P/E. it doesnt take into
account the growth of a company, difference in when it was 1 billion market cap
and 20 billion, change in growth etc.
