Open Question

When most people talk about trading options, do they sell the option when the
strike price goes up to make a profit, or do they exercise the options and
immediately sell the stock? Im a bit confused

you have to have a grasp/understanding of the concept of "intrinsic value"

You can use options to hedge long plays.
You can use them to generate income also. Thats called building wealth..not
trying to get rich quick in the market overnight trading!

when writing covered calls....sometimes it is to your benefit to let expire and
close over weekend.....I'll lets the calls expire on GE tomorrow.....written
when it was trading $38

I hardly ever exercice the call contract.....I also very very rarely let a
contract expire with out closing the position out myself! i am usaully long
gone, with money in hand be exp. day.
Tomorrow is an options expire day in the market.
