CTRP report:
This Q's disappointment boils down to decelerating revenue growth. Not exogenous
events affecting the company.
Similar to when Google went from growing 100% to only 33%
Net revenues this Q grew 47% yoy, compared to 58% yoy last Q
Hotel reservation revenues grew 28% yoy, compared to 42% yoy last Q
Air ticketing revs 68% vs 78% last Q
Packaged tour revs grew 67% vs 100% last Q
They are still growing very quickly, but not as fast as they were. This was a
disappointment, and the stock did deserve to fall. I'm sorry to anyone I
convinced to buy into the stock who lost money on the trade.
Going forward I think this stock is a good hold between quarters, but would NOT
buy it for earnings next Q.

They only did $14MM in sales rev this Q---yet its has a 4BB market cap?
my daugher has been playing the beat.thestreet game, and using earnings plays.
She got on the leaderboard 3 times. She finds stocks reporting earnings and
flips a coin. Well ... her account is destroyed this week even though she
shorted WFMI. That's all earnings plays are: a coin flip

Sorry, Matthew.
Bad miss.
don't worry about it - nobody can predit either earnings nor the market reaction
to them. It's a fun gamble though if you have the cash to risk. For every PETS
there is a DE (or CTRP)
