Observation: Bernanke says "uhh" and "umm" way too often. (So does Obama.) Isn't
this a sign of low intelligence, at least too low for a leader in such a
critical position, regardless of their level of education?
Madeleine and all stockpickrs~I want to apologize for my misreading of Daniel
Pipes article. I have discussed this with my husband and he thinks that I
mis-read the article. Although the article does say that the apostate must be
executed (under this law), he does not think this meant literally. He thought
that when someone stands apostate, it would be difficult for any muslim to
accept him. He would be shunned. They would not want to break bread with him
or meet with him.
In ancient Rome, when an Emperor was notoriously bad, they would invoke a
principle called Memoriae Damnatio, the memory be damned!, and the old bad
emperor would be replaced with a new one. They would try to eliminate his image
from anywhere, coins, statues, etc. They did this with some guy, but I
truthfully forgot who. But some of these practices still live on today in a
diluted form, like in our Federal buildings where we put a picture of the
incumbent president and take down the picture of the former president.
Many ancient traditions continue in our society today.
Regardless of whether Pipes article means Obama could be executed by the people
who find him apostate or whether he would be shunned by them, it is important to
understand that he would not be liked. Because I think the impression that
voters are forming is that because he had this in his background, he would be
BETTER able to communicate with them, wherein, he might actually be WORSE able
to communicate with them.
Regardless, it seems worth mentioning. I am sorry that I misunderstood the
reading and took it to its most literal meaning. Thanks for being an
understanding stockpickr list.

According to the articles that I have read about Obama and his childhood
religious education is it important that Obama was once a practicing muslim
because that makes him an "apostate". Under the strict sharia law,
"apostates" must be executed. If this "law" were
"carried out" while he were president and he were killed, it becomes a
national security risk. In which case, Obama's vice-presidential candidate
would have to take over the presidency. It can be argued that at any time,
any pres. could be assassinated. However, in Obama's case, it is more likely.
This should be counted into the proposition so Americans know about it before
voting. This issue needs to be addressed in the regular media such as cnn and
fox, etc. and debated.
Democrats need to talk to each other about this too.
Perhaps instead of an "Obama/Clinton" ticket, Democrats need to
seriously consider a "Clinton/Obama" ticket.

Sorry..I got to agreed with Kathy in NJ
Basically we need experience...i have alot of things against all of them..i'm
just picking the best of the worst this year.
In the NE we are taxed greatly and use to these government officials "lying" to
us...we are at fault because we do not vote when given the opportunity.
In NY we pay 40cents more per gallon for gas.
This election has the signs of when we elected Jimmy Carter, the experience
peanut farmer, who won because we were looking for change..
Hillary might have the best experience but there is so much drama with her,
lying doesn't help either and being that we had bill for eight years..add that
to the pot..
One thing that changed my mind was watching a A&E doc on McCain...once I saw
what he endured for years I new he could handle the presidency. I also like
"Less government"
Sorry for the rant...answer to ?: very simple for me "they are looking for the
right words to cover their ass" these people are so so bright but very smart
people say the dumbest thing

Kathy,
With the greatest respect, I need to cover up your Obama post. It's not
accurate. I respect your opinions but you have not stated facts.
I wish you the most beautiful morning.
Actually, no, it is not a sign of low intelligence and it is not a bad thing for
a leader to do. In Europe, they are much more accepting of this. I write well
but because of my brain injury, I have difficulty recalling stuff and so when I
speak, sometimes I can't get the word right. Speech occurs in a different area
of the brain than writing. But people get impatient with me, they will try to
fill in the words for me, and or they override me. It's frustrating as can be.
My brain surgeon assured me that this would not happen to me if I lived in
Europe (not that Europe is so great) but it is an American thing to want things
instantly. You are probably already thinking this email is too long. LOL.
There are other reasons to dislike Obama and it doesn't have anything to do with
his speaking. He has lied about being a Muslim and even though it is not on the
regular media and even though it shows up in Scopes urban legends, there are
other credible web sights that say he was a Muslim. Which is not to say a
decent Muslim person could not rule our country, since we have religious freedom
here. However, full disclosure about who you are, what you are, who you were
and how you came to be who are you now is very important in world leaders.
Honesty and transparency are very important for leaders.
The problem is that we don't really know WHO O'bama is. I had not ever heard of
him before this election, and I listen to a lot of news from all different
sources (NPR, EuroNews, Sean Hannity, CNN, Bloomberg, etc). I never heard of
him, though it is not like I am glued to the news.
Our country is in a mess. An absolute mess. John McCain has proved that he
would take the bullet for our country if needed be, and that when it came down
to the torture, he would not cave in. This shows tremendous strength of
character. However, I think that Hillary Clinton might be a better choice for
America. We know who she is and what she is about. She has experience, she
would be more accepted by the "world" outside, and she is not so utterly
innocent that someone could pull the wool over her eyes (and I don't believe for
a single minute Bill was pulling the wool over her eyes). Sometimes, it helps
to have a candidate who is seasoned, mature and wise. I know people are
worrying about the national health care. My guess is that this would not go
through because there are actually a lot of Democrats who do not want national
health care because their own health care qualitly would go down. Hillary is
wise enough to compromise, and my guess is that she would compromise at having
every child in America have health insurance. While the market is upset about
this idea, I think that it could possibly end up being good business. Would
employ more doctors, more nurses, more medical care companies, medical
management companies, drug companies. Etc.
It is something to think about.

notice Cramer mumbles something other than the topic into spaces between
sentences of his current topic, obama and bernanke don't do that....do you? ever
speak out loud what your thinking other than sticking to the topic that your
supposed to be covering?....we're all mad.
