I'm relatively new to Stockpickr and the market in general, and have been
learning lots. I've been watching (overexposed, hard to miss) RIMM's recent
activity as one of my "case studies." I actually bought a little, and sold
ahead of the q as Cramer suggested on Friday before the conference call. I sold
Mon PM and took a little beating on that one, and then watched the stock surge
Thurs ahead of the call and Friday afterward. Live and learn.

Corgy remarked upon the classic handle formation, and to possibly expect more up
days than down as the stock price traces that curve back near the 124.60
midpoint. With year end one day away, I was expecting a third day (Fri 12/28)
for RIMM to peak over 120 (as it did Weds and Thurs), but it made a steady
decline to below 117. This was on the heels of the Bhutto news and the housing
announcement.

The last trading day of 2007 is on a Monday. How do you imagine this plays out?
Will bulls take one last chance to push this stock back up to, say, 119?
Why/why not? Thanks for any thoughts you've got time to offer. - Jeff

The stock is in a classic double bottom chart. RIMM is forming a handle below
the midsection buypoint of 124.60. While it is forming the handle look for more
up days than down in above average trade. You could buy now, but, you would
like to see the big boys step into the stock. Good luck.

The caution in the guideance is just good stock management, AAPL does the same
thing.

what do you think about how the analysts picked up on the little "caution" in
the guidance? Overall I thought the conference call was pretty good.

Well..this is why the game is so much fun. No one is ever 100% sure what is
going to come out of the numbers...I was in the sell half (or more) going into
the qtr earlier this week. But, RIMM did jump that super high bar which was set
for them...it happens..lol...I get the whip..and will go through everything in
detail to see what allowed them to be Super Stock..able to jump over really high
analyst numbers in a single bound...live and learn.
This is what I posted 3 days ago...I may be wrong, but this may be a case of the
bar being set too high when they report. Last qtr they met numbers of .50...this
qtr. they are looking for .59 to .65...last yr. the same qtr they did a
.31...they have a p/e of 69.27 with the industry at only a 14.82. Right now the
short interest is only 10%. And the PEG is under 2. But if RIMM (which is being
asked about by way too many people in public) even sneezes it will be in
trouble. When Jim Cramer on the show indicated that he is always being asked
about this company from the buyers of his book...it reminds me of this story
about the investor who got out of the market at the perfect time...he remarked
when the person who was shinning my shoes asked..I knew I would have to sell.So
yes it has a consumer market and just breaking into China...but for this week it
may be a wild ride.
