59 yo private investor. Started in Feb 1987 heavily margined and narrowly focused - had ten fold increase by October which was given back in entirety. Regrouped, studied, altered approach (diversified, asset allocation, primarily value oriented, careful tracking of results - one part Lynch, one part MF, one part Buffett (and his roots). Made vow to retreat to Mutual Funds if results lagged S and P. Still in stocks.
