I Work in the Construction Industry and have An IRA rollover from my pension fund that I self direct with Edward Jones. My portfolio with Ed J. has done well even though I take a 72 T, IRS alowable distribution monthly with no penalty. I started this in 2002 and I pay no penalies for early withdrawal before age 59 1/2.
ETF's are very good for playing the sectors and indicies.
I also have American Funds that are managed by the Capitol Investment Group.
