I have been analyzing and investing in stocks as a contrarian most of my adult life (large, mid, and small cap). Never since 1987 have I seen so many excellent companies selling at prices so far below their intrinsic value. I will buy and hold these stocks for 3-5 years, and the capital gains will speak for themselves. I do not care if my best investment selections are my idea, your idea, Cramer's idea, or anyone else's idea. "Coattailing" on other people's sound investment ideas is as good as coming up with the idea or insight myself. If you have read Alice Schroeder's excellent Buffett biography, THE SNOWBALL, you will read that Buffett coattailed a great deal -- and no doubt still does.
