They call me "Average Joe Investor" < Self given pen name !
It should read > I call me "Average Joe Investor"
I used to be a "Blue Collar" worker(/Chemist/Electrician/Mechanical Cont.), saved my money, lived like a peasant, bought a dog, so I would have a friend, and now I am here, because I did a lot of work, found some good stocks, got my money in them first, so I can get you, to take me out at a higher price! My price......Or I found some overpriced ones, and I sold someone else's stock to you !
I consider myself a trader, before investor. I feel in today's fickle market you have to be. The method I practice : I trade stocks for profit, when ever possible, take 40% of all winning trades and put them in my "long term hold" of "forget about it portfolio" .Wake up one day far far away, and they are worth a mint.
I try and do, keep my finger,at all times, on the proverbial >
"Emotion Pulse" of the market and the world(geopolitical and economic influential), at all times ! And I have also giving up
sleeping all together...I now just sleep from (friday
8:01pm) zzz- till-zzz (Sunday 4:30am).......lol lol
I used to trade on mechanics and technicals > Now
I trade towards events(geopolitical and company) and
market emotions. I have learned to somewhat mix the
both together like a "fine tropical drink", to do pretty good
in the last 17 months, both on the buying long end and
the selling sort.
Also I have really became a student of the options
game....leverage is everything !
I think the options market is very appealing to the
"Average Joe Investor" based upon the opportunity to
control a significant amount of underlying stock, for a
period of time, for not venturing BIG money to buy in
long,or sell it short. I see folks and myself, leaning
towards far out call/putts, rather than "deadening"
their capital for extended periods of time.
I am also suffering from nightmares of being at the CME
(Chicago Merc) And getting attacked by 7 foot tall
bonds at 2am in the morning with 10% and Ben Berark's
face on them !
