individual investor from the Pacific NW - Oregon I'm an old dog who wants to learn new tricks. My best friend is a golden retriever named Rusty.

My investment style is long-term and long only. I usually hold my positions over a year unless they double in less time than that. That doesn't happen very often. I have a couple of stocks that I've owned since the early 90's - INTC and MSFT. I've taken out my investment in these multiple times and am playing with the house's money.

My philosophy about stocks is like gardening, get it small and watch it grow. I have a lot of patience and can stand some volatility along the way.

My side interests include gardening and growing things. I always plant a big veggie garden in the summer and also tinker around with planting stuff like trees, shrubs, and perennials all year long. Sometimes it seems like I'm always digging a hole somewhere.
