A private equity firm can really get this company to turn itself around. They reported bad earnings last quarter with their failed acquisition of Rossignol Brands which was effected by one of the worst ski seasons in 20 years. Quicksilver does have good brands and a growing international presence in Europe that has yet to be fully realized. I think private equity or activist investors are buying into this stock. Look at a chart over the past 10 days, compare it to a year time frame and you can see the unusual activity of high volume, and the stock going for $12.50 headings towards $15 this week in less than 15 trading days.
