If the Baltic Freight Index seems to go down every day, then why is FedEx (FDX)still going higher? If Ryder's (R) getting hammered, why isn't United Parcel Service ()? Why are the rails still higher when YRC Worldwide (YRCW) can't get out of its own way? Do you know that CSX (CSX) and Union Pacific (UNP) just had nice moves and they aren't giving them up?
Maybe all of these moves are just plain false. You simply can't get stocks to stay up if things are as bleak as the Baltic indicates. It is too predictive. ("The Salutary Effect of Destocking," 4-8-09)

From a recent Mad Money show:

"I think it's finally had a good quarter and is starting to rally. I'd be a buyer and pull the trigger. I'd recommend that one."

by Baird Securities

YRCW announced expectations for a 4Q07 goodwill impairment [of] $700 to $800 million. The majority of the impairment relates to 2005 US Freightways acquisition. Book value's now $27/share, from $39; tangible book remains $5/share. Given the uncertainties surrounding its sizable off-balance sheet, multiemployer pension liabilities and operational challenges amid the ongoing freight recession, we continue to recommend investors avoid the name. YRCW now trades at an [EV] to 2008E Ebitda of 9 times...Our revised 2007/2008 EPS estimates are $2.33/$2.05, down from $2.40/$2.20...Our new 18 target reflects an all-in enterprise value-to-2009E Ebitda of 8 times. Market-cap: $932 million.

Hard name to hold in a fearful US stock market, and with Home Depot and Walmart as major customers, Yellow may not break out somewhat until the recession fears evaporate.

Long term -- 5 - 15 years, yes. Short term, 2007 ??? Stock is beat down and this is good. However, real house of pain possible with Summer oil spike. Punt for now, re-evaluate 01 Aug 07.

Trucking is facing a slowdown, current spot prices are weak and YRC Worldwide is a highly leveraged company with a lot of debt.

gold way up here to buyback their
contracts....and wouldn't you be a bit
worried if a gold miner is buying gold?
wouldn't it be smarter to dig for more
