The office equipment maker based out of Stamford, CT, added $1 billion to its current buyback plan, on top of $370 million remaining under the existing plan. Since launching its buyback program in October of 2005, the company has repurchased 137 million shares, representing 13% of outstanding shares.

The company recently reported full year 2007 earnings of $1.19 a share, in line with the consensus and beat last year's results by 13.3%. In the fourth quarter, Xerox's profit skyrocketed 79% on a combination of cost control and growth in equipment. Revenue rose to $4.88 billion from $4.38 billion. However, the company's outlook for the current quarter was below expectations.

Xerox Chairman and CEO Anne M. Mulcahy said, "Our growing annuity revenue and strong cash generation, along with our disciplined approach to controlling costs, result in consistent delivery of solid performance year after year."

Crossroad Research wrote a bullish report on Xerox and reiterated a buy rating. They believe, "Xerox' strong product portfolio growing installed base (and page volume) and strong cash flow provides upside opportunity for earnings."

Xerox is on Fast Money’s trader radar. The stock traded almost double its average daily volume Thursday.
