"This is not one of my favorites. I think ConocoPhillips (COP) and BP (BP) are preferable to Exxon. I think it's over-owned." ("Mad Money Lightning Round," 6-2-09) |

Yet, this market has to have all three -- tech, oil and finance -- go up, and the most important of these remains oil! So we get smashed on Occidental (OXY), Transocean (RIG), Chevron (CVX) and Exxon Mobil (XOM). It's absurd! |

Resource names make sense to me. I’m watching ExxonMobil (XOM), Potash (POT) and Archer Daniels Midland (ADM). - Steve Cortes |

The rig count may be low, the oil stocks' earnings hideous, as we know from ConocoPhillips (COP) and Chevron (CVX) and ExxonMobil (XOM). The drillers' top-line numbers may be sad, but it is all about a perceived bottom and how oil is so cheap relative to the other comeback commodities. |

Done nothing but lose forever. How can all other energies make money and this albatross keeps diving. It has seperated from energy prices and moves with the market. Makes no sense. |

More corporate responaibility needs to be played by Exxom before I find them worthy of my investment. Unfortunately my investment flaw is that I also look at the ethics of the firm I invest in. Exxom does not possess an ethical standpoint that I can be proud to stand behind, even if they were to bank on a 45 billion dollar quarter. |

Not a great yield and oil prices falling won't make Exxon a real player. |

Oil is a natural resource that depleates in time. Unless the company starts taking on alternative sources of fuel, I don't see a bright future to it. |
