I don't want to short Whirlpool (WHR), because everyone else is. |

"How about how well these appliances makers act? I think Whirlpool (WHR) is a steal because it is so hated.... Wal-Mart (WMT) is on fire for the first time in a while.... And Disney (DIS) is on a bust out." ("Oil Reports Are Slim and Slippery," 4-29-09) |

The beauty of China’s stimulus is that, unlike the U.S. tax rebate of 2008, these coupons can be used only for designated appliances. So the money spent goes directly to the industries that need it most. General Electric (GE), Corning (GLW), Whirlpool (WHR) and Best Buy (BBY) are just a few of the companies that could benefit most from this spending. The inventory glut they’d suffered through will most likely give rise to empty warehouses thanks to this Chinese demand. |

Take the housing group. Ever since Masco (MAS) went up on that bad report it's been all net for this group: Whirlpool (WHR), Fortune Brands (FO) and Lowes (LOW) all broke out today. |

Eric Jackson: "Earlier this morning, I expressed surprise that Whirlpool (WHR) was trading down in premarket after it released quarterly numbers. With cost controls, the company posted a slight profit instead of a loss as the market expected. I expected a big rally, given how that kind of news has been received lately by the market." Cramer said the bears are wrong, and there are just too many positive signs in the market signaling a turn in the economy. From restaurants like Darden (DRI) to appliance companies like Whirlpool (WHR), you don't have to be wearing rose-colored glasses to see that things are better than they were before. The ideal portfolio for right now? Apple (AAPL), 3M (MMM), Freeport McMoRan (FCX), Potash (POT) and Union Pacific (UNP). On deck: Google (GOOG), Whirlpool (WHR), Fluor (FLR) and Sears (SHLD). Who the heck's long that? I know many more people who are short 'em! |

From a recent Mad Money show:"Whirlpool is going right down the drain. There's a lot of over capacity and it's too risky." |

Don't listen to Whirlpool (WHR) where you would learn that the worst recession in appliances in three decades is now morphing into the worst ever, and GE (GE) is still trying to sell its appliance division. |
