Why I Love This Stock

By:Stockpickr Staff

"The leading takeout candidates, however, are private shops, putting the possible feeding frenzy outside the stock market's reach, at least until an IPO date.

Outfits like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Meebo, Zillow and eHarmony are among the top names on Aggarwal's list. Three public companies -- Web metrics specialist ComScore (SCOR), online ad maker ValueClick (VCLK) and IT marketing shop TechTarget (TTGT) -- made Aggarwal's roster." Market Perform - Price 5.73 on Nov. 25
by JMP Securities

We're assuming that in 2009, due to a combination of pricing pressure and reduced ad spend, total revenue for VCLK [one of the world's largest integrated online-marketing companies] will decline by 13.5%. Our new 2009 estimates call for revenues of $551.5 million, reduced from $617.0 million, consensus at $577.5 million, and adjusted Ebitda [earnings before income, taxes, depreciation and amortization] of $142.6 million, reduced from $155.5 million, consensus at $142.3 million. We believe our estimates and consensus are achievable....[But we] would remain on the sidelines awaiting data points from the crucial holiday season -- despite the stock's cheap valuation [of enterprise value/'08 Ebitda of 2.9 times, versus the peer group of 5.4 times]. Market cap: $475 million.

Online advertising company ValueClick recently posted a quarterly profit that topped market estimates, and boosted its share buyback program by $100 million.

The company said weakness in its comparison shopping and search segment was offset by better-than-expected performance by its display advertising business in the third quarter.

For the full year, the company expects earnings of 55 cents to 56 cents a share on revenue of $633 million to $638 million.

In July, it had forecast earnings of 69 cents to 71 cents a share on revenue of $655 million to $675 million for the year.
