According to Cramer, TJX Companies (TJX) is no longer in control of its destiny, and the stock's best days may be behind it. Even management on the company's conference call lowered guidance and warned of tougher times ahead, he said. The problem? Cramer said TJX benefits by buying distressed merchandise from other retailers. But with the retail sector stabilizing, there simply isn't enough merchandise for TJX to buy. Cramer said TJX also benefited last year from the demise of rival Linens N' Things, an event that's now well priced into TJX shares. Cramer called TJX's conference call one of the worse of the quarter, noting that management offered no hope for improvement in the latter half of the year.

Still another article said that TJ Maxx (TJX) profits were up and that it was a good stock to own. Cramer was aghast, noting that company management just lowered guidance. "Be skeptical," Cramer concluded.

declared a regular quarterly dividend in the amount of $.12 per share, an increase of 9% per share over the last dividend paid.

And those that have any success at all, like Urban Outfitters (URBN), Ross Stores (ROST) and TJX (TJX) -- as opposed to the dollar stores -- are getting a higher multiple on their somewhat consistent earnings.

Urban Outfitters (URBN) and TJX (TJX), the latter now being controversial because of the most recent bad quarter.

Cramer said that he's taking a new look at the retailers after many have reported better-than-expected numbers this past quarter. He said that TJ Maxx (TJX) is now among his favorites.

On a scale of 1 to 10: Earnings = 7, Value = 5, Dividend = 2. Not the best of breed retailer. Not awful, but no compelling reason to buy. The stock buyback is O.K. If it dips back to $20, you have my blessing.
