Tyco Electronics (TEL) was upgraded from Market Weight to Overweight at Thomas Weisel. TEL has executed very well in difficult demand environment though consolidating it manufacturing, divesting underperforming business and focusing on market growth opportunities leading to significant room for upside potential.

Bermuda-based Tyco Electronics Ltd. said recently its board of directors authorized a $500 million increase in the company's share buyback program to $1.25 billion from $750 million. The company, which split from diversified manufacturer Tyco International Inc. last year, said through the end of February it has spent $512 million of the $750 million the company originally authorized in September 2007. The company makes passive components and electronics for telecommunication systems, including underwater fiber optics and wireless electronics.

The stock trades for 7.5x cash flow.

Tyco Electronics recently announced a $750 million dollar buyback.

Tyco Electronics Ltd., the Bermuda-based supplier of engineered electronic components which was spun off from Tyco International in June, said in late September that its board declared an initial quarterly dividend of 14 cents per share.

The stock trades for 9x cash flow.
