In every single case I can spin every single piece of data negative. There are no pure positives. Target (TGT), Wal-Mart (WMT) and Kohl's (KSS) say back to school is good? A whole host of little ones say it is bad. Home Depot (HD) says things are getting better but Sears (SHLD) and Lowe's (LOW) can't say that.

Cramer called the government's appliance rebate program "Cash for Dishwashers" and noted that Whirlpool(WHR) was up on the news whereas Sears(SHLD) "was doing poorly."

But maybe Sears "is not such a bad bet," said Cramer, since its Kenmore product line is made by Whirlpool. "How about the people who sell Whirlpool?" he asked. "I think they should be up too." Stop Trading!, Aug. 20

In a video filmed today, Cramer said that Sears could turn itself around with new management. At the right price, he said, the stock is a buy.

But Home Depot (HD), Lowe's (LOW) and Sears (SHLD) have turned, and there's some strength being shown in the companion restaurant group -- Darden (DRI) and Yum! Brands (YUM) -- so maybe we are seeing the beginning of the gasoline rally!

Cramer said we're seeing what he calls a "gasoline rally" in stocks such as Darden (DRI), Coach (COH), Tiffany (TIF), Sears (SHLD), Lowe's (LOW) and Yum! Brands (YUM).

"This is all the same trade that we saw when gasoline broke from $4 down to $2 last year," he said. "It's happening again." Read more here.

Finally, Cramer recommended Sears(SHLD Quote) as a play on "a return to the mall." He said that no one believes in the stock, but "they bought back a lot of stock" and the stock has been going up "pretty consistently." He call it "one of the best-acting retailers out there." I got killed

consistently loosing market share. Very little money being invested in the business. Shares are being bought back in a declining asset. Very overvalued on the basis of earnings. The preceved real estate play? Do you wnat to own real estate in this environment.
