Why I Love This Stock |

From a recent Mad Money show: "It's good, but it's not as good at Abbott Laboratories (ABT). I'd rather see you in Abbott." |

Schering-Plough (SGP) has tried hard to build its business overseas, and boom! Look at that stock after a terrific quarter by any stretch of the imagination. |

Coca-Cola(KO), Schering-Plough(SGP) and McDonald's(MCD) "are just unbelievable bellwethers of what the Fed's going to do," said Jim Cramer on Friday's "Stop Trading!" segment on CNBC. |

Pfizer (PFE) and Schering-Plough (SGP) continue to invest in R&D, but have battered shares, so they outrank Wyeth (WYE). Regeneron Pharmaceutical (REGN) rates higher than more richly valued biotechs like Amgen (AMGN) or Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX). The idea here is inspired by the value-investing tradition: Buy a dollar of research for fifty cents. |

But for those who think that the decline in commodities is signaling total collapse of the economies, then these will work. Schering-Plough (SGP)? I don't know ... I like Gilead (GILD), which is on fire. Abbott (ABT) had a great quarter. Bard (BCR) and Becton (BDX)? The latter, thought of as a resin play, seems particularly good for the moment. |
