It's not just copper. Vale (RIO) (or RIO, as we know it) started at $7 and traded as high as $44. If we retreat to that level, RIO's obviously a tremendous short. |

”Also look at bellwether resource names such as Petrobras (PBR), Vale (RIO) and Gazprom, Seymour adds.“On a valuation basis they look attractive. |

Anthony Carpet, the broker's co-head of Americas Investment Research, says it benefited from an overweighting in energy and basic materials, as well as technology and exchange stocks. Winners included Cabot Oil & Gas (COG), EOG Resources (EOG), US Steel (X), Brazilian mining giant Vale (RIO), Nasdaq, CME Group (CME), Research In Motion (RIMM) and Google (GOOG). Nasdaq, CME and RIM are now off the list. |

I dont hate the stock but there is a lot of risk. RIO is one of the biggest holding in the ILF ETF. i think that there could be a correction in Latin America because of the socialist policies of Chavez and investors wanting to cash in on their profits. Rio is still a Latin Ameriican company and still a trade not an investment. I think MT or TCK are good investments. |
