"With a market cap of $740 million, Rediff today trades at 115 times trailing earnings and 88 times forward earnings...In addition, Rediff's grip on its market seems to be slipping as Google and Yahoo! make inroads in India...The makeup of Rediff's earnings also raises questions. Some 53% of Rediff's '07 pretax profit of $7.04 million in the fiscal year ended March comes from interest on cash raised in a 2005 stock offering, an amount Rediff's chief executive, Ajit Balakrishnan, readily admits he has no immediate intention of spending."
