Packaging Corp. (PKG) was upgraded from Hold to Buy, Deutsche Bank said. $30 price target. Company missed first quarter expectations, but has superior margins, strong balance sheet and buyback and dividend support.

Packaging Corp. of America, a supplier of containerboard and corrugated packaging products, recently issued a fourth-quarter profit prediction above Wall Street estimates.

The company also recently announced a $150 million dollar buyback.

The stock trades for 8.5x cash flows.

The Lake Forest, Ill., company upped its rate 20%, to 30 cents a share from 25 cents, for a yield of nearly 4%. Payouts were initiated in October 2003 and had been increased only once previously. Disbursement will take place Jan. 15 to holders of record Dec. 14. Ex-date: Dec. 12.
