Novell (NOVL) upgraded at Jefferies. Rating raised to Buy from Hold. 2008 EPS estimates lowered to $0.24 from $0.25. Maintains $7.50 price target.

Novell Inc. said last week that its board approved the repurchase of up to $100 million of the software company's outstanding shares of common stock.

Based on the company's recent closing stock price of $6.50, the buyback represents about 4.4 percent of Novell's outstanding stock. There is no fixed expiration date for the program.

Novell (NOVL) was downgraded to Hold rating from Buy at Jefferies. FY2008 eps estimates and price target hold at $0.26 and $8, respectively.

Novell (NOVL) was upgraded from Perform to Outperform, Oppenheimer said. $8 price target. Company has successful with its restructuring, and can double its operating margin in 2008.

And NOVL was upgraded to Buy rating from Hold at Jefferies. Price target lifts to $7.50 from $7 and FY 2008 eps estimates upped to $0.23 from $0.22.

P/E of 45 and a PEG of 6.15.
