Why I Love This Stock |

Also, Deere (DE) and Monsanto (MON) could go higher, as could dry-bulk carriers like Diana Shipping (DSX) and tanker companies like Nordic American (NAT). |

He said that seed giant Monsanto (MON) confirmed the strength in the sector when it came out with positive news at its recent analysts meeting. Cramer said Monsanto is the first "buy, buy, buy" in the group, now that the company can clearly see the light at the end of the tunnel for this long underperforming sector. |

During the great narrow bull market that was 2006-2007, anyone who hitched a ride on any bulk or oil carrier, any DryShips (DRYS) or Diana (DSX), or any Frontline (FRO) or Nordic American Tanker (NAT), or anyone who bought anything ag-related -- Deere (DE), Monsanto (MON), Potash (POT) -- looked like a genius. Beginning midyear last year, you looked like a moron. You are now about to look like a genius again. |

The big apple and the hedge-fund haven Greenwich, Conn., were well-represented on the dais. The normally reticent hedge-fund manager Steve Mandel of Lone Pine Capital threw out a passel of stocks that he finds under-valued, including McDonald's (MCD), Abbott Laboratories (ABT) and Monsanto (MON), now a biotech leader. |

I am aghast that people here do not even seem to recognize what bull market behavior is. Pure, oxygenated bull market patterns abound every day here. Look at Potash (POT) on takeover talk from Bank of America about BHP Billiton (BHP)! Total ether! And yet it takes Deere (DE) up with it. All aboard Monsanto (MON)? |

A newcomer to the fund this year is agribusiness giant Monsanto. The company is by no means new to Oak Value. Coats & Co. have wanted to add the stock for years, but it was expensive. They were impressed with Monsanto's weed-killer Roundup, but what they really liked was the company's seed business. They previously had concluded that Monsanto's earnings were being skewed by one-time price increases for Roundup that weren't likely to be duplicated. In June, when the generic producers ramped up production and hit Roundup's profits, Coats found his "inflection point," and picked up shares around $75 -- well below the 2008 peak above $145. They now trade a little over $82. The company has a forward price-earnings ratio of around 19. "We don't have any expectation that we have picked the bottom of the stock," Coats says, but "the business has evolved as we thought." |

Cramer endorsed both Potash (POT) and Deere (DE) and predicted that a short squeeze in Monsanto (MON) would push that stock “much, much higher.” |

Superbugs created by nature in response to crops with genetically engineered infestation resistance will start appearing in soybeans and corn, and the economics of Monsanto's selling proposition to farmers will collapse. |
