Category: Large Growth

Manager: Marsico Growth is headed by Thomas Marsico, a savvy veteran who has been in the business for over 20 years. Before starting "Marsico Funds", Mr. Marsico worked at Fred Alger Management and Janus Capital. According to Morningstar, Marsico is aided by some 16 analysts and 5 traders.

Side Note: Mr. Marsico's belief in his funds is reflected in the fact that he is a large shareholder in each of the fund family's four funds.

Investment Strategy:
- Uses a combination of top-down and bottom-up strategies
- Attempts to spot trends (which he has been very, very successful at over the past many years) before they become "hot"
- Primary focus is growth stocks, although he'll also buy the occasional "cheap stock" that appears to have a catalyst to support it
- Current "trend" is (of course) overseas growth, although his idea is to play it with U.S. multinationals (which, personally, I think is a terrific idea)
- Tends to have a somewhat concentrated investment style, and fairly high turnover
- Examples of holdings include: UNH, GS, DNA, UBS, CMCSA, FDX

Other Figures:
- Minimum Investment: $2,500
- Expense Ratio: 1.26%
- A no-load fund
- Total Assets Under Management: $2.858 Billion
- Amount of holdings in cash: .3%
