Piper Jaffray said it is upgrading GameStop (GME) to buy from neutral based on valuation and fundamentals. Note that shares trade around 10x 2009 earnings estimates despite earnings growth of 40% in 2008 and 18 in 2009. Price target lowered to $35 from $50.

From a recent Mad Money show: "No, no, no. I think that this is going to be a miserable Christmas and anyone that sells gaming stuff is a sell, sell, sell."

Four that I watch and think are 2, 3, maybe 4 or 5 points too high are Ralph Lauren (RL), Nordstrom (JWN), Phillips-Van Heusen (PVH) and Gamestop (GME). I don't think any of these companies is doing that well. The discretionary buying is terrible. I think the expensive hardware will not be selling at GME, and that one -- even as low as it is -- can go lower.

From a recent Mad Money show: "No, that was our Christmas play last year and we're done with it. We're staying far away right now."

My son has every Major game console made.

I go to best buy to buy games, and with the reward program, get discount certificates. I don't know why people shop at these stores.
