Amgen, coincidentally, has been rallying on a better reimbursement environment from the new Medicare bill, an adjunct to DaVita's (DVA) boost.

Cramer told investors that dialysis plays Fesenius (FMS) and DaVita (DVA) are in a great position to benefit from this year’s Medicare spending bill. He pointed out that the current version of the bill provides dialysis companies with annual base-rate and inflation-rate payment increases. Cramer explained that FMS and DVA control 65% of the U.S. dialysis market.

DaVita Inc., which runs dialysis facilities, recently announced its board authorized an increase to its current stock repurchase program to $250 million.

The stock repurchase program has no expiration date.

As of May 1, 2008, DaVita had about 104.7 shares outstanding.

Jim Cramer also said in his May 2 Lightning Round, “It’s a buy on its kidney failure machines.”

Davita (DVA) was downgraded from Buy to Neutral, Oppenheimer said. Stock already pricing in potential favorable dialysis language in a year-end Medicare bill.

Davita (DVA) was upgraded from Hold to Buy, Deutsche Bank said. $68 price target. Company should be able to navigate through a Medicare price cut better than previously thought. Company also has the capital to make accretive acquisitions or buy back stock.

Piper said it is upgrading DaVita (DVA) to a Market Perform rating due to a strong Q2 and management's more optimistic view of 2008.

Downgraded by Deutsche Securities from Buy to Hold
