On the other hand, my long-suffering utility plays -- I like Dominion Resources (D), Con Ed (ED) and, most important, Exelon (EXC) -- have finally caught a bid, and this implies that rates may indeed be topping out.

Why I Hate This Stock

By:John Borowski

Date:08 03 09

This utility company is stating that the public is conserving energy and they are not making the money they should be. So it looks like slow times for the indusstry for a while.

Lenovo is eating their lunch short term. Unless they take on a Nucor like approach, they are toast.

Where did you get the idea this stock pays a 6.7% dividend? The dividend is only 3.3%. Did you forget to adjust for the recent stock split back in November??

From Barron's 4/17/07

"Operators in regulated electricity markets probably will be allowed to recover the higher costs of uranium via higher rates for customers. But nuclear operators in competitive markets, like Exelon, Entergy, FPL Group (FPL) and Dominion Resources (D), will see higher fuel costs deplete profit margins."

Q. can anyone explain the BGF seper...
11.12.09 | 20:03 PM Asked by BS7518

A. BGF was an enhanced income security,
which represented one share of common
stock (BGS) plus $7.15 principal amount
of senior subordinated debt. They first
separated the note from the stock, then
did a partial redemption of the bond.
You should have received the following
for each share of BGF
1 share common (BGS)
$4.28 cash per share for the partial
redemption (this includes dividend)
1 note with face value of $3.11

There really is no market for the bond
portion. You will probably end up
holding it until redemption.

Hope that helps.
