Pete Najarian highlights companies like Freeport-McMoran (FCX), Wynn (WYNN) and ConocoPhillips (COP) who have instituted or raised dividends, but the more important point here is that companies have strengthened their balance sheets.

Oil and Nat Gas play for the future

Also Marathon (MRO) has a new refinery coming on line. If you're looking for a trade, consider long ConocoPhillips (COP) but as a restructuring story and outright short Valero (VLO) because refiner margins are shrinking, he says.

And ConocoPhillips, one of the world's largest oil companies, sweetened its quarterly, as it has every year since its formation in 2002. It will pay 50 cents a share, up from 47 cents, giving it a 3.71% yield.
