Even movie-theater chains such as Cinemark (CNK) and concert sponsor Live Nation (LYV) -- which has a deal to merge with Ticketmaster (TKTM) -- occupy resilient pieces of the media landscape and have shares that still appear attractive for risk-tolerant investors.

Cinemark (CNK) was downgraded from Overweight to Neutral, JP Morgan said. Estimates also cut, on expected weaker overall box office results in the second and third quarter.

Strong summer movie sales/Dividend

"Cinemark Holdings, the third-largest movie-theater operator in the U.S. (after Regal Entertainment and AMC Entertainment), went public in April, selling shares worth $532 million. Monday, it declared its first dividend. Based in Plano, Texas, Cinemark voted a quarterly of 13 cents a share. Stockholders of record Sept. 4 will get the new payout Sept. 18. The ex-date is Aug. 30. Yield: 2.93%. (AMC, citing "adverse market conditions," canceled its $789 million initial public offering on the eve of its scheduled debut in May.)"

Will be added to Russell 2000 at end of month and similar to CKEC, should see fantastic quarter due to outstanding movie selections available. They have no dividend listed yet, but have said they will have one, so should get a bump when they anounce that also.
