Right now this formula applies to pretty much every stock I follow -- could be Apple (AAPL) or JPMorgan (JPM) or Chevron (CVX) or Chesapeake (CHK) or Wells Fargo (WFC) or Cisco (CSCO) -- but RIMM stands out as the textbook case of what's going on.

On Oct. 30's "Mad Money" show, Cramer spoke with Chesapeake CEO and Chairman Aubrey McClendon, who said people aren't aware of how much natural gas is available, due to recent discoveries and spoke of the importance of nat gas as a bridge fuel to the future. Cramer told his viewers that if they think natural gas is headed higher, then Chesapeake's a buy.

Let’s revisit Chesapeake real quick: A huge chunk of the US natural gas reserve is in Pennsylvania’s Marcellus Shale, and thanks to a new technology, horizontal drilling, we’re now able to tap most of it. Chesapeake owns nine of the 52 rigs in the Marcellus, as well as 1.45 million net acres there. This strong foothold makes the stock, Cramer says, “without a doubt, the single best way to play” it.

Buy - Price 27.82 on Sept. 25
by Jefferies & Co.

Chesapeake, a U.S. onshore-focused exploration and production company, is forming a joint venture on 50% of its midstream assets with a private-equity fund, Global Infrastructure Partners. CHK will receive $588 million in cash. Raising target to 32, primarily to reflect additional value of [midstream] assets....[This] should help to further ease concerns the company may have to tap the equity markets in the near future. Our [net asset value] of 32 a share is premised on '10 proved reserves of 15.5 tcfe [one trillion cubic feet of natural-gas equivalent]. Meanwhile, Chesapeake is still actively considering a joint-venture opportunity for the Barnett properties [N. Texas]. Risks include: prolonged period of low natural-gas prices; faster than expected decline rates in various shale plays which could impair reserve bookings; delays in planned future asset sales. Market cap: $16.6 billion.

Personally I like nat gas long-term because it will probably be part of the energy solution, adds Karen Finerman. Therefore, I’m bullish long-term. However, don’t play the UNG – instead I’d look at Chesapeake (CHK).

Buy under 8

This is Carl's Junior and Hardees - they have not cut back on their prices like MCD and Yum have - the reason this is good is when the economy turns around it will be hard for MCD and Yum to raise their pricese without loose some customers - CHK won't have to raise rates so they should actually have an increase in cusotmers ; the one major problem with this company is if a healthcare plan is passed with a public options - this could forced them to raise their prices - which would be very bad since their prices are already high

How long could we decide that the great companies like (XTO), Chesapeake Energy (CHK), Devon Energy (DVN), Southwestern Energy (SWN), Apache (APA), Anadarko (APC) and EQT (EQT) could be denied upside when the natural gas futures bottomed and took off? I look at this group, which I endlessly proselytize, and I wonder when people will realize that the price for next year is signaling a better year.

CHK got smacked hard when things turned because of the nature of NG price sensitivity to oil prices and a lot of outstanding obligations brought on by a growth binge. Back on its feet, with oil already back to a historically high price and likely going higher and a dominant position in the US natural gas market, I'm betting CHK gets taken out by a bigger player or grows naturally once it becomes financially feasible to start expanding capacity again.

Flat right now. Energy just happens to be a low priority now. But give it time. We'll all need to heat our homes eventually and demand will rise.
