Tech can't be fought here. Because people are partying like it is 1999, when firms used $400 price targets for Qualcomm (QCOM) and Broadcom (BRCM) had all the wireless network answers and Apple (AAPL) had the audacity to think that it could control the music business.

[It] should be achievable on continued solid longer-term top-line growth prospects, improvement in core business segments and improving operating margin....[Risks to target include] market and macroeconomic conditions; a continued lack of traction in the cellular segment; increasing competition; employee turnover; and high exposure to stock-option expenses. Broadcom provides wired- and wireless-broadband-communications semiconductors [and has long] demonstrated product-portfolio improvement through an aggressive acquisition strategy. It excels at integration and address[ing] increasingly converged digital consumer electronics. Market cap: $7.3 billion.

GOOD ELECTRICS

Three examples of companies with siginifcant levels of cash on hand are Nvidia [NVDA] ($2.98 cash), Corning [GLW] ($2 cash), and Broadcom [BRCM] ($6 cash). Karabell suggests that even if you discount 2009 earnings, this cash takes those already low valuation multiples even lower, making for incredible entry points on the buy side. Guy Adami agreed with Karabell on most of his points, and referred to Broadcom as a "raging buy".

Najarian mentioned that Obama wrote a piece in the Wall Street Journal that was bullish on the broadband infrastructure build-out. He said to look at names like Akamai Technologies(AKAM), VeriSign(VRSN) and Broadcom(BRCM) to play the potential build-out.
