Macke said Best Buy (BBY) is going to say they reported a lousy quarter but that it sold a lot of TVs, proving that people are going for "cheap" entertainment.

Best Buy (BBY)was downgraded from Buy to Hold at Deutsche. $49 price target. There is increasing concern about the supply and demand balance in the flat panel television market that could have detrimental implications for holiday results. In addition, there is also concern over Wal-Mart's aggressive position in consumer electronics.

They Just Don't Get Dell!:

I would sell Best Buy (BBY) for the same reason, because I think Circuit City (CC) is in real trouble, and if Blockbuster (BBI) wakes up from its stupidity, that company would have to come clean on its supplier problems.

It's been dead money for almost a year now. $47-$55. May finally make a move next week with earnings report.

Sure, I'll be the first to hate it. It sells CD's, a dying technology. It sells DVD's, which you can rent cheaply from Netflix. It sells cameras, which you can get on your cell phone. It sells gadgets, which you can buy on Ebay for cheap. It sells a small supply of games with big price tags, which you can buy much cheaper from stores with much better supply. Best Buy is doomed if they don't get with the future of technology. I say sell.
