Cramer thinks today’s rate cut could boost his thesis on dividend-paying stocks like Verizon [VZ], BB&T [BBT], Merck [MRK], Watsco [WSO], Eaton [ETN] and others. Thanks to the rate cut, those yields now pay out more than hiding in cash. |

So, too, do high yielders that pay their dividends in dollars and don’t yet have much overseas exposure. Cramer recommended Altria [MO], BB&T [BBT] and Verizon [VZ] here. For investors outside the U.S., Cramer said, these stocks are a good way to get paid a nice dividend while hiding in dollars. Basically, they’re high-yielding bonds. |

Ladenburg Thalman analyst Dick Bove tells us if he were building a portfolio right now he'd take a huge position in Citigroup. And "I would buy PNC, BB&T, and Bank of America," he says on Fast Money. |

BB&T (BBT) and PNC (PNC) would also be ascendant. They will all be able to buy banks that the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. has taken over if the RMT is set up, because then the FDIC will also be able to get rid of whole loans. |

Look at these winners: Capital One (COF), as the credit card portfolio is holding up well. U.S. Bancorp (USB) and BB&T (BBT) because they are natural buyers of the bad banks. JPMorgan Chase (JPM) is a natural winner after this. I know Morgan Stanley (MS) and Goldman Sachs (GS)are having terrible quarters, but I think they are must-buys. The BKX is barely down! |
