Why I Love This Stock

Finerman said she "couldn't get on board" Amazon.com (AMZN) because it is "extrapolating growth to the stratosphere." Grasso, though, said large-cap funds, in the race for year-end performance, will start buying this stock because they feel underweight in it.

Finally, there is Amazon (AMZN). So many people shorted this thing off the "price war" with Wal-Mart (WMT) without understanding the changing nature of Amazon, especially now that it has bought Zappos. The consumer was hit last year by high oil prices and came over to Amazon during that period, only to discover the value and the price. People see real bargains in going to Amazon, especially people who would not shop at Wal-Mart. AMZN is a terrible short, just terrible.

Stutland says the options pits are pretty optimistic on Amazon (AMZN). I think you could still play it to the upside. He got long for some of his investors before the last earnings. At least there's a floor on this stock and I think it should hold here, he says.

We have leaders, so we have winners. Amazon (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Google (GOOG) and Microsoft (MSFT) are making moves that have us thinking about tech in a positive way and make us recognize the power of the Web renewed.

Kaminsky said money managers are in a bind now because they are wondering how they can participate in stocks like Amazon when they are up so high. Terranova said there is more room for Amazon (AMZN) to go higher because $150 billion ecommerce industry is growing.

Amazon.com rallied hard last week after investors caught wind of the company's third quarter results. Expect the trend to spill over into this week.

Q: Barron's: For starters, why are you so high on the Pacific Northwest?

A: Delafield: Many companies in the Pacific Northwest are undercovered and underserved by both Wall Street and the institutional-investment community. Of course, you have Starbucks [SBUX], Amazon.com [AMZN], Boeing [BA], which still has its main manufacturing facilities here, even though it's headquartered in Chicago, and Microsoft [MSFT]. But beyond them, the coverage drops pretty rapidly.

Or Amazon (AMZN). Can you believe the stock's going up on a product? That's so old days. True bull-market behavior.

Overvalued. Too much growth already baked into the price. The company's doing exciting things, and I might be wrong, but it's just way, way too pricey here.

Stock dissapoints. Steady stream of insider trading eats all profits before it can get to shareholders. Shows they don't believe in their product.
