Mike
btw, if you're going to try to use TOS on a continual basis, I highly recommend this
video. It's very short but explains how you can setup your main chart screen for multiple
timeframes w/live news and more on one screen. I highly recommend

In the TOS [Think or Swim] platform which Ameritrade now offers, in order to overlay
volume on a chart.....
Above a chart, click on the white box w/wrench [when you hover it says chart settings]
When that screen comes up, look bottom left and you'll see Volume Bars. If you want to
change the color of the volume bar, click that box and if you don't like the 9 colors
shown, click Select and you can choose from over 100 diff colors to customize then hit
OK.
Once you're back on the main Chart Setting screen, go to the tab at the top that says
Equities. Make sure Show Volume is clicked AND I suggest you click the box to the right
that says *add shortcut*. Do the same for Futures [if you monitor them] then hit OK and
you're done.
If you ever want to remove the volume, right click a chart and go down to Style. Once on
that, you'll see the shortcut box to remove volume bars. That's the shortcut you added
above.
Having volume overlaid can come in verrrry handy when deciding where to enter a stock.
Where, or at what level are buyers coming in???

hey ya know, come to think of it, if they pass health care.and they impose a 2.5 %tax for
not having insurance. then yes dltr and wmt will reign. cause all the working poor that
cant afford anything already will have a tax put on their already poverty wages and wmt
and dltr will be their permanent places to shop, instead of an interum place until the
recession would have blown over.kr has already posted 1 million new steady customers due
to the recession. tgt, shld,jcp.kss. and all the high end retail, just may see a lousey
holiday#'s.

yep, that puppy still opened @47.90. and still holding the 3 point gain. but that one has
resistance @ 50 also, so anyone in it should take something.

yea that is a powerful move, Chris. I saw ASKs under $50 at times in pre-market so there
was time to get in.

Kos, I'm not up to TOS yet because I have NEVER even been able to set a stop in TD
Ameritrade. For example, yesterday I tried to buy MO at today's open with a "Trailing
Stop parameter of 1.5 points" and it rejected for some reason, so I just fell back to my
"just buy at the damn market".
(I tried to look at TD Ameritrade's examples, but they say that "you can do this" but they
don't show the order screen!)
