James, when does your contest start? Remember I told you a lunch with your or Jim should
be the prize or front row at any playoff game etc.

When Dylan first mentioned Nancy B on the air last week, he said one can only win once no
matter how many portfolios one has. So it will be interesting to see what happens with her
tomorrow now that her name made top place.
Given the number of complaints about the woman with 800 portfolios, I suspect the rules
will be clarified next year. But this year it looks like she's going to run with it.
Thanks everyone here who wrote about their experiences with the CNBC site last week. By
Friday I was ready to pull my hair out and emailed CNBC 4 or 5 times. Glad to know I
wasn't alone, misery loves company - ugh.
A friend told me the person who won last year had a portfolio of 5K, but I've not been
able to verify this information.
Ever onward and upward.

I started a Million Dollar Challenge-Week 2 page. It isn't a new discussion, just thought
it would be easier to have a freah page every week as I was getting tired of scrolling
forever.

But I do have to agree with CNBC: if Nancy Beaumont is able to manage and play 803
portfolios, then she is playing the game and smartly too. It isn't just about trading
after all: you make the rules work for you! I can barely manage two: mine and my husband's
(he wants to throw darts at the stock listings, so he told me to make trades for him if I
had any great inspirations...) I said, "Good for her!" the day I heard about her
manoeuver(sp?) so long as she was within the rules... and I guess she is. But really, I
wouldn't even have the stock picks to play 803 portfolios!

Dylan Ratigan said today, and I quote: "If your portfolio doesn't have a 50% gain this
week, you aren't going to win." Well, there it is folks... I have somehow managed to reach
the top 10% with such a lovely, diversified portfolio. But I now have to risk it all,
sell them off and try to bet it on what I think will be that 50% gainer. Gigamedia or SSI,
why not??? How do these people assess these potential gainers? Well, the game is forcing
me to take a look at a whole new realm of the stock world and confront a whole lot of data
I have been too lazy to really understand how to use. So, it is really a good learning
experience all-in-all. Not that I'd invest this way normally but just being forced to try
to find, on my own, good speculative stocks. That is, after all, where the biggest gains
are usually made (so I'm told, and so it appears...).
Good analogy Derek: it was 3:50 and I had to pick my horse! Goodby top 10%! It's all or
nothing.

Who knows how many portfolios the runners up have. Heck, they may make it all the way to
me by the time all the cheaters are ousted. LOL

It's like picking a horse! You gotta go for it!

If you want to win, you must go all in I feel. I went all in last week and am up about
14%, #2444 (top 1%). However, it's not enough to beat 803 of Nancy's portfolio's.

btw Beaumont should not be allowed to win $$$$$!!!!! If I would have known I could have
just guessed on multiple stocks on multiple accounts I would have kicked her butt.
Anyone who manages more than one account should have only been allowed to manage one.
Hell...I think everyone should have to have at least 3 stocks if not 5.

What do you think of Gigamedia ahead of earnings? Or SSI. My fiance works there, its a new
store in a semi-rural area and sales profits of 50k-60k a month. There goal was 100k month
but this
is a small town. I'm in the top 16% at 40595 ($1,000,028,327.60)with not all my money yet
invested and I haven't been doing the bonus ?'s much. Its a balanced portfolio w/ MO LVLT
YHOO
and a couple others. Can I still win some money and should I stick it out with only my 2-3
best or should I take a gamble on something?
