Krispy Kreme: The C...

I think people hate Cramer cause he tells it like it is, gives away old insider secrets.
When he recommends a stock on his show you have to just figure out the timeline for
holding it plus do a little homework before you jump in. He's always preaching be
diversified, buy best of breed, and don't be a pig. I think the rest of the rules just
help you decide what to pick and how long to keep it.

stockjock,
Great point. I agree.

Henry, that's exactly my point. If Granville, Prechter and Russell, three of the biggest
influences on the stock market during their time, aren't remembered and Wade Cook will
probably end up in the Hotel Graybars then people shouldn't blindly follow Cramer's
gospel.

stockjock, I didn't really think too many would remember Granville and Prechter. LOL. I
remember Granville and Richard Russell always looking for a 'bear' market. By the time
they would turn 'bullish', it was time for you to sell.
You know who got me into this whole thing? I don't know if anyone here even knows the
guy...........Wade Cook! LOL.

I have several friends who are public friends in the investment world, and based on their
experiences, I agree that when your thoughts and suggestions are heard/read by thousand of
people, you are bound to have some haters. What I like the most about Cramer is that he
encourages people to do their own decision making when it comes to their finances. There
are a lot of those out there now, but he was one of the first. I may not always agree with
his suggestions, but through his site, his writing and TV show he has played a big role in
the democratization of the stock picking, and to me that is important.

I think he prolly over-exaggerates the "haters".
He's prolly just talking about people that are like "hey, Jim, you're putting a lot of
people's savings at risk with all your recommendations. Why don't you tell them to be more
diversified, etc..."
On the diversified note, I guess that would make me a "hater", then, too... (although I
actually like Cramer)

I like him, but he put my old boss(Sam Palmisano) on the wall of shame last night. I may
need to sell some or all of my IBM.

All successful people have some degree of haters...it is just the way it . Jealousy comes
into play as a factor in the equation among other things.

I would think that some people just find him abrasive and loud and after watching him
awhile find tranquilizers sounding good. Also, over the years I've seen other "gurus" like
him have a large following who were treated like Gods but eventually left their flocks
crashing and burning. Two who come to mind were Joe Granville and Robert Prechter. Caveat
emptor.
