How did you find out about IZONE? I am a loyal ameritrade client, NEVER use the phone, do
everything online. Even paying $9.99 for the live streamer will save me a bundle if I pay
$5.00 per trade. Can I just transfer my account or do I have to open a new one? I can't
wait until Monday to start!

I've been with Ameritrade for a couple of years now and I'm very satisfied with their
execution. $9.99 per trade doesn't seem to bad to me - I'm old enough to remember the huge
commissions we paid before discount brokerages were around. What a ripoff that was!
While we're on the subject of online brokerages, I'd like to ask about interest rates on
cash balances. I've been tempted to leave Ameritrade because their money market account
rates are so miserly - only .10% on balances under $5k and only .40% on balances under
$25k. The rates on higher balances are not much better. Because of this, I maintain a
very minimal balance most of the time.
Fidelity's rates are much better - 5% on cash reserves. Main downside seems to be funds
availability. Am I reading their policy correctly, are incoming funds only available
after 4-6 business days? That seems excessive to me but maybe I'm mistaken?
If anyone has good cash management experiences with any of the other brokers, I'd be very
interested to hear more.

I'll weigh in... SCOTTRADE hands down! It's been troule-free during the 2 years I've used
it. Trades are executed quickly and it's easy to navigate.
Just an FYI...no one mentioned Fidelity and it's probably with good reason. My brother
uses it and for the better part of 2 months, he's had nothing but problems. The site keeps
freezing.

Yes, I will put in an order and watch the stock price bounce around passing through my
price often two or 3 times and etrade still doesn't catch my bid. It can be so
nerve-racking. And believe it or not I have entered limit orders and the price h But
Ameritrade is instantaneous... and the balance transfer deal is just a fraud really!as
opened significantly below my bid, and etrade has not bought it until I've gone in and
changed my bid! Has this happened to anyone else? I think I'm crazy cuz I just can't
believe I'm seeing this.
Sean, it was the same Zecco vibe we picked up. :)

Sophia, it is interesting that Ameritrade is so much faster than etrade. I like eTrade but
agree that it sure can be slow to get things processed... something like 8 business days
to transfer $$$ into my account. I would be tempted to check around on other sites except
I guess I will stick with eTrade since my company gives the account free and puts my stock
purchased through their plan into it and I'd rather not have two sites.

I love Ameritrade (at 9.99 after the first FREE 45 days plus 100. cash) but I'm
disappointed that on the few times I've tried to short a stock they didn't have any
available. The record keeping is good and next month better when the checking activity
associated with an account there will show up.

I did not see anyone mention Zecco. They offer 10 free trades a day and 40 a month for a
$2500 balance (I think :/). Is there something I am not seeing here that no one uses
this?

I'm moving to Zecco... I'll let you know, but it willb e good enough for what I do I
suspect and free trades are the best... But thanks for the info on Izone. I use etrade and
ameritrade and buyandhold. Ameritrade executes trades so much faster than etrade.
Buyandhold provides 2.99 trades or unlmited trades for 14.99/mon. They only have three
trading times daily so always market orders so I started moving out of there to these
others. But the fees are just eating up my small-time profits. I have to say, I do better
with B&H even w/o limit orders...
