Ahmet Okumus founded Okumus Capital in 1997 and has served as President and Portfolio Manager since its formation. He heads the research and trading team and also provides leadership and strategic direction for the firm.

Ahmet is a staunch disciple of the Graham and Dodd style of value investing. Ahmet, over the last 17 years, has applied the principles of deep value investing in his research, security analysis and stock selection. His track record has consistently been at the very top of all US equity managers.

He set up his first hedge fund, Okumus Opportunity Fund, in 1997. This fund has compounded at nearly 35% net per year since inception. None of the funds managed by Okumus Capital have experienced a down year in their history.

His talent has been recognized by financial media and he was featured as one of America's top stock investors in Jack Schwagerâ€™s book â€œStock Market Wizardsâ€. 100% of Ahmetâ€™s net worth is invested in the funds managed by the firm. He is the largest investor in the funds and his investment represents approximately 20% of the firm assets which is in excess of $800M.
