Companies that purged to get lean fast flooded the market at a time when buyers were few and far between, but the buyers are coming back in volume and looking for deals because financing is tighter than it used to be and the quality of a lot of the inventory is quite good. I'll bet revenues improve even though the volume of equipment will remain neutral for a while as the market remains spotty and the developers that have been mortally wounded and can't remain competitive get knocked out.

CHK got smacked hard when things turned because of the nature of NG price sensitivity to oil prices and a lot of outstanding obligations brought on by a growth binge. Back on its feet, with oil already back to a historically high price and likely going higher and a dominant position in the US natural gas market, I'm betting CHK gets taken out by a bigger player or grows naturally once it becomes financially feasible to start expanding capacity again.
