Diversified and balanced - solid but with some stocks with potential for high return

-
ECA
Encana Corp - $53.51
- -2.46%
- $52.22
Huge asset base, management skilled and shareholder focused (Eresman), natural gas demand growing and company has good vertical strategy for huge oil sands holdings (partner there with COP)

-
WFC
Wells Fargo & Co - $27.14
- -2.48%
- $26.96
Kovacevich is best banker around - company has good cross sell strategy and diversification in revenue sources. Ever qtr is a record qtr. Owner since 1989.

-
GE
Gen Electric Co - $15.94
- -1.48%
- $15.49
Company doing very well under Immelt with profits doubling last 5 years - while share price flat. Eventually GE the stock will catch up to GE the company.

-
XEL
Xcel Energy Inc - $20.19
- -1.51%
- $20.13
Regulated utility with growing markets, good dividend, and great management from Richard Kelly

-
IBM
Intl Business Mac - $125.70
- -1.24%
- $124.59
Pretty stagnant last few years after big run in early 90's. But huge scale and technology prowess. I like having some of this right now.

-
ADM
Archer Daniels Md - $30.65
- -2.39%
- $30.51
It is not just the corn based ethanol. ADM is true giant in agriculture including processing and transportation worldwide. And ADM has the scale that it will either lead or quickly catch up if cellulosic ethanol becomes a reality. But again, I would own it even if there was no such thing as ethanol for fuel.

-
ISIL
Intersil Corporat - $12.92
- -1.52%
- $12.70
High performance analog company with 60% GM model. Growing faster than peers. Huge cash cushion. Good engineering and nice balance of application specific and general purpose products. My favorite semiconductor. Rich Beyer has been stong and recently added new president David Bell from Linear Technology. Will be real plus if he proves to be the real deal.

-
DCI
Donaldson Co Inc - $42.87
- -2.35%
- $42.83
Steady growth and technolgy lead in some areas of filtering (nanofiber approach). Becoming more global. Well run, conservative. Look at long term chart.
