No real theme, just individual stocks I'd like to buy while the market is wrestling with subprime

-
MOT
Motorola Inc - $8.24
- +0.24%
- $8.22
Cheap at $16. Razr2 is coming out, and has gotten good reviews so far. Ichan of course - and I'd feel pretty smart buying in lower than he has. I still need to look over their balance sheet in greater detail and better understand the non-handset parts of their businesses before I'd really consider buying.

AAPL
Apple Inc. - $196.23
- -0.38%
- $199.05
Love the technology. Impressive execution, consistently rolling out new and improved versions of existing products. Mac growth rates higher than pc industry. Revenues from Leopard should be a nice bonus. Major possibility of huge stock runup (from current $115 levels) into Jan 08 Macworld on rumors of 3G improved iphone. It's the coolest thing in tech.

-
AA
Alcoa Inc - $13.64
- +6.56%
- $12.90
It really seems to have been over-sold. I still need to do a lot of homework on this one, but it might be worth it.

-
RIG
Transocean Ltd - $86.07
- -0.61%
- $85.77
Great ROE, Profit margins. Price is attractive, but oil futures are trading lower. Of course, rig rates are set years in advance, and demand should continue to increase based on the fact that integrated oil refiners need to drill for more oil to improve their bottom lines.

-
BA
Boeing Co - $53.78
- +0.11%
- $54.04
Dreamliner is a dream for the stock price. Killing Airbus.

A. You are right. The drop in viewership is
largely due to other sources of business
news through the Internet. However,
after the crash last year (and early
this year), a lot of retail investors
have dropped out of the market, and
stopped watching anything on TV relating
to stocks.
