This is my "live a little" portfolio. I love to gamble on spec plays, it's almost as fun as Texas Hold 'Em. These are stocks that I think may have a catalyst coming in the next few years to send them flying, regardless of their ugly fundamentals. You can pay for the whole seat, but you'll only need the edge.

GNBT
Generex Biotechno - $0.50
- 0.00%
- $0.4901
Generex is a play that I keep getting crucified for recommending. Sure, the balance sheet is terrible. Yes, the fundamentals are horrid. Nonetheless, this company has some amazing potential in its drug pipeline. I think Oral-lyn is a phenomenal concept that could help millions of diabetics to ditch the needle and still stay healthy. Positive news is pouring out of this company as phase III trails have already begun. This company also has Breast Cancer and Bird Flu drugs cooking behind the scene. The 1 year price target for this stock is $6.

ALVR
Alvarion Ltd. - $3.75
- -0.27%
- $3.68
Alvarion is a great choice for investors wanting to play the future of WI-MAX. Clearwire surged when they were contracted to provide Wireless Internet service for Sprint. It's only a matter of time before the next telecommunications company jumps on board, and I think Alvarion is the best option out there. Their profit margin is still in the red, but looks as if it's about to turn the corner. I think it's a great time to get in under $11.

-
JMBA
Jamba - $1.62
- 0.00%
- $N/A
Jamba Juice is planning a significant growth spurt, but its fundamentals are gross. I think the concept of the product carry additional market share, as this company still resides primarily on the west coast. The good thing is even companies like Coke are beginning to market the vitamin-loaded drinks that this company has been dabbling in for years. It's just a matter of whether or not this company's growth can overshadow it's nasty fundamentals. With a projected EPS next year through the roof and a PEG of .91 I think that it stands a chance to make investors some dough.

-
LVLT
Level 3 Communica - $1.25
- -0.79%
- $1.23
Level three is eliminating debt left and right, and refinancing whatever is left. The dot com bubble burst tore this company a new you know what, but as the main player in the ever-growing need for bandwidth, I think it's only a matter of time before this company can get the earnings train a rollin.

BLUE
Blue - $0.00
- N/A
- $N/A
Hollywood seems to be jumping on board with ANTIK Jeans, the latest addition to the $200 jeans trend. I see more an more men willing to drop hundreds of dollars on these new-fangled overalls, which is a sign that ultra-priced designer jeans are here to stay, at least for a while. I'm just not sure why you'd want BLUE when you can own TRLG, which is in my opinion the best retail/consumer discretionary stock to own heading into the holiday season. However, at about $1, BLUE might be worth a gamble.

-
BFLY
Bluefly - $2.17
- -2.69%
- $2.06
Another online designer retailer. George Soros has been buying this stock up. It has a higher-than average gross margin, high projected EPS growth and a tempting stock price of .92 cents. Every other fundamental is junk, though.

-
JSDA
Jones Soda Co. - $0.681
- -9.19%
- $0.82
I'm Jonesin' for Jones. Lame. Anyways, I think this growing company is doing everything right, from getting into cans and vending machines, to plastic bottles and supermarkets, to fountain drinks at Qwest Field. This company is lead by dedicated founders who do business with dignity and, above all else, have a great product. If they keep doing what they're doing, they'll quickly grow their way off my "spec" list.

NFI
Nfi - $0.00
- N/A
- $N/A
The housing market is terrible, we all know that. This stock, however, I believe is simply a victim of circumstance. It's listed on the NYSE and just one year ago it was at $131 per share. It may be a little too early to get involved on housing market plays, but, oh well, that's why it's called SPECULATION! It's a few bucks above it's 52 week low. I think this could be a nice ride all the way up in the next few years, as housing is expected to improve by Spring '08. I see a huge upside on a stock that's bottomed.
